My piece on the algorithm behind Twitter Trends, has gone from Culture Digitally blog post to being reprinted in Salon.com and in the Independent Book Publishers Association's trade paper Independent, translated into Portuguese for a Brazilian NGO called poliTICs, and led to two NPR interviews, a brief one on Morning Edition and a longer piece on To The Best Of Our Knowledge.Unexpected. I've got to write a post like that every week, I might have a book on my hands by now.

Hector Postigo (Temple) and I were awarded funding from the NSF's Science, Technology and Society division, to hold a series of invitation-only workshops and virtual collaborations on "Cultural Production in the Digital Age." The first workshop was held in March 2011. That collaboration has continued at Culture Digitally, our group blog. A second workshop will be in April 2012 in Philadelphia.
